Ethiopian Sign Language

Demographics: 1,000,000 (2005 Ethiopian National Association of the Deaf). An unknown number of Deaf in rural areas are isolated from other Deaf and use only home signs for basic communication with family.

Language Development: Also used for university education at the B.A. level. Taught in primary and secondary schools. New media.
