Language Use: In one village in Son La Province it is moribund, spoken only by those over 50; while in several villages in Lao Cai it is still spoken but potentially endangered (Bradley 2007). Mainly older adults. Those under 50 speak Thai [tha] and dress like the Tai Dam.
